I've always been fascinated by the intricate connection between mind and body—a curiosity that sparked my journey into medicine and a lifelong pursuit of truly holistic care. My understanding of health deepened profoundly during my time with the Peace Corps in Côte d'Ivoire, where I saw that true wellness isn’t just about treating illness—it’s about supporting the whole person within their environment, lifestyle, and community. That experience shaped my path to medical school, where I embraced osteopathy’s holistic approach to healing.

Through my training and years of practice, I developed a deep appreciation for primary care’s role in long-term wellness. While conventional medicine excels in acute care, I saw firsthand how it often falls short in addressing chronic disease, lifestyle support, and true prevention. I wanted to offer something more.

My own life transitions reinforced this calling. Becoming a mother reshaped my understanding of balance and self-care, and returning to Maine—a place where I feel most connected—solidified my belief that health is about more than medicine. It’s about how we live, the choices we make, and the support we receive along the way.

In 2015, I founded Acadia Integrative Medicine to create a practice where patients feel truly seen and heard—where they are partners in their health journey. Through integrative medicine, I merge the best of conventional and holistic care, helping patients navigate menopause, chronic disease, stress, and overall wellness.

For me, this work is more than a profession—it’s the culmination of everything I’ve learned and experienced. I believe health isn’t just the absence of disease but the creation of a life that feels balanced, energized, and aligned. It’s a privilege to walk alongside my patients, offering the guidance and support they need to achieve true wellness.

My approach to medicine is holistic and patient-centered. I see my role as a partner in health and wellness, empowering patients to take an active role in their care. With a background in midwifery, I have spent 20 years helping families navigate birth and health. Over time, I have come to appreciate the importance of supporting women not just through pregnancy and birth, but throughout all of life’s transitions.I grew up in Midcoast Maine, drawn to horses and outdoor adventures. At 16, I discovered midwifery and knew instantly it was my calling. I earned dual degrees as a Midwife and Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner from the University of Pennsylvania in 2004. Though I trained in an urban setting, my heart was always in rural and holistic care. Returning to Maine, my husband and I welcomed our first baby, and over the years, I have practiced in hospitals, birth centers, and home settings. In 2008, my family settled in Blue Hill, where I feel deeply connected to the land and community.I believe good medicine starts with careful listening and giving patients the time and knowledge they need to make informed choices. Transitioning from midwifery to primary care allows me to shift my focus from the pinnacle event of birth to a broader view of health and wellness that begins before pregnancy and continues throughout a woman’s life. I am especially passionate about supporting women through perimenopause and adolescence, helping to make healthcare an empowering experience at every stage. While my career has focused on women’s health, I have always viewed family medicine as the foundation of care. That’s why I am returning to school to become a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP). Expanding my scope of practice will allow me to care for all the people who make up a family, which feels like a natural next step. I anticipate completing my program and opening my full family medicine practice in fall 2026.Outside of medicine, I love shearing and spinning wool from my small flock of sheep, long runs on country roads, and island hopping along the Maine coast with my husband and children.
